Jeff Place was one of the producers and writers of Smithsonian Folkways' acclaimed 1997 compact disc reissue of the seminal album set. Matthew Sabatella is the founder and president of Ballad of America, Inc., a nonprofit whose mission is to preserve and celebrate music from America's diverse cultural history.
